Nationvision LED display manufacturers introduced that in addition to playing a full white screen to reach peak power, there is another reason that when the screen starts, the instantaneous current is large, so peak power will also appear. So why is it necessary to equip power distribution cabinets? The main reason is that the full-color LED display itself is an electronic device that consumes a lot of power. In order to ensure the reliability of the system, it must be equipped with good power distribution equipment.

As we all know, indoor / outdoor LED display screens are spliced by LED modules into a box, and then the box is spliced into a full screen, or the LED module is spliced into a full screen directly. However, the voltage of the LED module is 5V, and our commonly used alternating current is 110V, 220V and 380V. The 5V voltage cannot be used directly with the 220V voltage, so a large number of switching power supplies are needed, and these power supplies will generate capacitive loads. When the screen starts, the instantaneous current is large, which is easy to form an impact on the grid and damage the electrical equipment.

Therefore, for indoor / outdoor LED display screens, screens with a peak power of more than 20KW should be built using distribution cabinets with distributed power-up functions. If it is a 10KW screen, you can use a power distribution cabinet or an air switch. If it is a small pitch LED display installed in the display areas such as monitoring, command center and public safety, it is recommended to install power distribution cabinets on screens over 20KW.

If the peak power consumption of the small pitch LED display is calculated as 800W / m2, the power of the 30-square-meter small pitch LED display is 24KW, and the peak power of the distribution cabinet should be 24 * 1.3 = 31.2KW. Therefore, a small pitch LED display of 30 square meters needs to be equipped with a power distribution cabinet larger than 30KW. The reason why the power of the power distribution cabinet must be multiplied by 1.3 times is that in addition to the power required by the screen, the small pitch LED display is also equipped with a computer, video processor, audio amplifier and heat dissipation equipment.

If it is an outdoor LED display, it must be equipped with heat dissipation equipment such as air conditioning or large fans, and electronic equipment such as lightning rods and video processors. Therefore, the power of the power distribution cabinet required for outdoor LED displays is higher. It can also be calculated directly by the peak power of the screen, but in order to ensure foolproof, LED display manufacturers recommend that a power distribution cabinet with 1.3 times the power of the screen is better.

The function of the power distribution cabinet is mainly to control and distribute electrical equipment, and it can protect the circuit from overload, short circuit, and leakage. When leakage and short circuit occur on the screen, the power distribution cabinet will directly cut off the power supply, protect the screen and personal safety, and prevent accidents such as leakage and fire.
